The War Council

The War Council

The group entered the war council chambers, where Fabricator General Shoddy, Grand Admiral David Lipovina, General Marko Novak, and other high-ranking officials awaited. The room was charged with anticipation and readiness, each member prepared to address the urgent matters at hand.

Spotty spoke "As you all now know Ila and Whistler here are now on our side. I know that especially Ila might not be someone any of you like and with good reason, but she has bent the knee and swore allegiance to me and to the Empire. She really had no choice since it was either that or remain in the dungeons. The powers that be abandoned her and we have the power inhibitors to keep her in line if she decides to try anything funny. But I doubt she will she has no better option than to be on our side. Regardless she is one of the powers that be and we need every powerful ally we can get now that things are starting to escalate. Which leads me to the second matter I wanted to bring up. There's another rebellious member of the powers that be, Lucifer, he's trapped in hell which is just another universe. He's not evil you know? He's kinda like me, except that his rebellion against the powers that be failed and he got imprisoned in hell for it. He doesn't torture anyone, the powers that be send anyone they don't like there and they torture them. Lucifer is just forced to watch unable to do anything about it. And I'm prettier than him" she said the prettier part with a chuckle (she was very beautiful by all standards). Lord Asmodeus smiled at that remark, Empress Spotty was indeed very attractive. Spotty continued "We're going to break him out soon". "When you say we, who exactly do you mean?" Lord Asmodeus asked. "Me, you, Ila and maybe Whistler" Spotty replied and turned to Whistler and said "Want to tag along?" Whistler was surprised but he knew what he was signing up for when he joined Spotty's side and replied "Sure, why not? But you do realize that the powers that be are going to be pissed?" "I do" Spotty replied and turned to Shoddy "The power inhibitors, how soon will they be deployed on all imperial worlds, ships and anything else important?". Shoddy answered "We are working round the clock in around 2 weeks they will be deployed everywhere"."Excellent work Shoddy" Spotty replied. "Wait, there's more" Shoddy said. "More?" Spotty replied. "Yes, I've completed the design for the Zmajcica-g class and many others, with your permission I would like to begin refitting the Zmajcica-f to the Zmajcica-g along with the rest of our ships" Shoddy said. "Of course Shoddy, just forward the designs to me first, I'd like to see them and perhaps tweak them a bit" Spotty replied. "They've already been uploaded to your computer, I hope you don't mind but I've also upgraded your computer while you were gone. You always complained about it being too slow so I improved it. I think you'll be pleased" Shoddy said. "Thank you" Spotty replied sincerely. She turned back to everyone and said "Ok looks like we have two weeks to rest, before we continue. Anyone have any questions?"

Spotty's Perspective

Spotty felt a mix of excitement and determination as she addressed the war council. Introducing Ila and Whistler as allies was a crucial step, and she understood the skepticism in the room. She had anticipated the resistance, especially regarding Ila, but she believed in the necessity of powerful allies.

Her thoughts were focused on the mission ahead. Breaking Lucifer out of Hell was not just a bold move; it was a statement against the powers that be. Spotty felt a thrill at the thought of the adventure and the potential chaos it would cause. She was also pleased with Shoddy's progress on the power inhibitors and the new ship designs. Her appreciation for Shoddy’s initiative was genuine, and the prospect of upgraded ships excited her.

When she asked if anyone had questions, she was mentally preparing for any objections or concerns, ready to address them with her usual confidence and charm.

Lyra's Perspective

Lyra was still processing the rapid changes and revelations. She felt a mix of awe and anxiety. Seeing Spotty command the room with such authority was impressive, but the mention of Lucifer and Hell sent a shiver down her spine. She had always heard stories of Hell and the Devil, and now to think they were real and intertwined with the Empire's plans was overwhelming.

Lyra admired Spotty's confidence but also felt a growing responsibility. The defenses around Sol and the powerful allies they were gathering made her realize the scale of what they were up against. She resolved to step up and prove her worth in the coming trials.

Ila's Perspective

Ila felt a strange sense of vindication as Spotty introduced her to the war council. She noticed the wary glances and knew she had a long way to go to earn their trust. Spotty’s assurance about the power inhibitors was a reminder of her precarious position, but she also recognized the potential for her own influence within the Empire.

The mention of breaking Lucifer out of Hell intrigued her. She had always admired Lucifer’s defiance, and the thought of joining forces with him was exciting. Ila felt a renewed sense of purpose, and despite her guarded demeanor, she was genuinely curious about what was to come.

Lord Asmodeus's Perspective

Asmodeus felt a swell of pride as he watched Spotty take charge. Her confidence and strategic thinking always impressed him. The hug and kiss they shared had been a moment of personal joy, but now he was fully focused on the mission.

The idea of breaking Lucifer out of Hell was bold, even for Spotty. Asmodeus appreciated the gravity of what they were about to undertake and was ready to support her in every way. Shoddy’s updates on the power inhibitors and the new ship designs were welcome news, and he felt reassured knowing the Empire was in capable hands during Spotty’s absence.

Whistler's Perspective

Whistler was taken aback by Spotty’s invitation to join the mission to Hell, but he quickly composed himself. He knew what he had signed up for and was ready for whatever came next. The acknowledgment of the power inhibitors was a reminder of the control Spotty had over him and others, but he respected her pragmatism.

The revelation about Lucifer and the nature of Hell was startling. Whistler couldn’t help but feel a mix of curiosity and dread. Despite his usual detachment, he felt a sense of anticipation for the mission ahead.

General Marko Novak's Perspective

General Novak listened intently, his mind racing with the implications of what Spotty was proposing. He had always respected Spotty’s leadership, but this mission to break Lucifer out of Hell was unprecedented. He was wary of Ila but trusted Spotty’s judgment.

The updates on the power inhibitors and new ship designs were encouraging. Novak felt a sense of duty to ensure the military was ready for whatever challenges lay ahead. The two-week timeline for deployment of the inhibitors was tight, but he believed in Shoddy’s capabilities.

Grand Admiral David Lipovina's Perspective

Admiral Lipovina maintained a stoic expression, but inwardly he was processing the gravity of the situation. He respected Spotty’s strategic mind and her ability to turn former enemies into allies. The idea of breaking Lucifer out of Hell was audacious, even by Spotty’s standards.

The updates on the fleet and the new Zmajcica-g class ships were promising. Lipovina was always looking for ways to improve the Navy’s capabilities, and Shoddy’s progress was impressive. He was ready to support Spotty’s mission and ensure the fleet was prepared for any fallout from their actions.

Spotty looked around the room, expecting questions. She knew her announcement had stirred many thoughts, and she was ready to address any concerns or inquiries. Her mind was racing through potential scenarios and strategies, preparing for the challenges ahead.

Lord Asmodeus's Question

Lord Asmodeus spoke first, his voice measured and thoughtful. "Spotty, breaking Lucifer out of Hell is a significant risk. Do we have any intelligence on the current state of Hell? What kind of resistance can we expect, and do we have a clear extraction plan?"

Ila's Question

Ila, intrigued by the mission, leaned forward slightly. "How exactly do you plan to navigate through Hell's defenses? Do we have allies on the inside, or will we be going in completely blind?"

Lyra's Question

Lyra hesitated before speaking, her curiosity getting the better of her. "Spotty, you mentioned that Lucifer is not evil. How can we be sure of that? What if he turns against us once he's free? What are our contingencies for that scenario?"

General Marko Novak's Question

General Novak, always focused on logistics, asked, "What resources will we be committing to this mission? Are there specific roles we need to prepare for within our military units, and how will this affect our current operations against the Dralathi?"

Grand Admiral David Lipovina's Question

Admiral Lipovina, thinking about the broader strategic implications, asked, "If the powers that be retaliate, are we prepared for a multi-front conflict? How do we plan to defend our key positions, and do we have diplomatic channels open to mitigate any backlash?"

Whistler's Question

Whistler, always direct, asked, "What exactly is my role in this mission? I'm ready to contribute, but I need to understand the specific objectives and my responsibilities."

Elizabeth's Question

Elizabeth, thinking ahead to the technological aspects, inquired, "What kind of technological and scientific support will we need for this mission? Are there specific tools or enhancements we need to develop or bring along?"

Spotty's Thoughts

Spotty listened to each question carefully, nodding thoughtfully. She appreciated the diligence and thoroughness of her team. Her mind worked swiftly, preparing detailed responses to ensure everyone was on the same page. She was determined to address each concern and solidify their collective readiness for the monumental task ahead.

Spotty turned to Lord Asmodeus "The plan is simple I will open a portal to hell, we will walk through it, go to Lucifer and portal back out. Getting him out isn't the hard part, convincing him to do as I say is. He's rather rash he will want open war against the powers that be as soon as possible. Now I'd rather convince him with words than make him comply with the power inhibitor or my fist, that's why I'm taking you, Ila and Whistler with me. But if he won't listen to reason I'll use force. Although I hope it doesn't come to that."

Spotty turned to Ila and replied "As I said to Lord Asmodeus, I will portal us in we'll grab him and portal out. You'll be there to try and convince him to do as I say"

Spotty turned to Lyra "I know him personally, I was part of his rebellion. He's no more evil than me. Him turning on us isn't what I'm worried about. Him not wanting to follow my plan is. But as I've said to Lord Asmodeus, we'll try talking to him first but if it comes to it I'll convince him like I convinced Ila" Spotty chuckled as she said the last part about convincing Ila.

Spotty turned to General Marko Novak and said "no, it's just me, Ila, Lord Asmodeus and Whistler"

Spotty turned to Grand Admiral David Lipovina and said "That's why we're waiting 2 weeks for the power inhibitors to be installed, with them in place the powers that be won't be able to retaliate directly, they might throw some pawns at us, but I trust your forces can handle them"

Spotty turned to Elizabeth "no not really, but if you'd like, I would love if you joined me and Lyra tomorrow for a little sightseeing on Earth before your vacation with Ivan. Oh, and by the way your vacation with Ivan will be paid for by the imperial treasury" Spotty smiled as she said the last part.

Lord Asmodeus's Perspective

Lord Asmodeus listened intently to Spotty's plan, nodding thoughtfully. He appreciated her directness and confidence. Her strategy to use diplomacy before resorting to force was wise, but he knew the unpredictability of such missions. He was ready for any outcome, but Spotty's reassurance strengthened his resolve.

Ila's Perspective

Ila found herself impressed by Spotty's straightforward approach. The plan seemed bold and risky, but Spotty’s confidence was contagious. Ila appreciated being included in the mission's persuasion efforts. Her knowledge of the powers that be and their dynamics would be crucial.

Lyra's Perspective

Lyra felt a mixture of relief and apprehension. Spotty’s assurance about Lucifer's character was comforting, but the potential for conflict worried her. Spotty's confidence in using force if necessary was reassuring, but Lyra hoped it wouldn't come to that. She was curious to see more of Earth and spend time with Spotty and Elizabeth.

General Marko Novak's Perspective

General Novak appreciated the clarity in Spotty's answer. With the mission being limited to a small team, it wouldn't strain their current operations. He felt a sense of readiness and was relieved that the broader military wouldn't be stretched thin.

Grand Admiral David Lipovina's Perspective

Admiral Lipovina felt reassured by Spotty's explanation. The two-week window for deploying power inhibitors made strategic sense. He trusted his forces and felt confident that any pawns sent by the powers that be could be managed effectively.

Whistler's Perspective

Whistler nodded at Spotty's response, feeling a sense of readiness for the mission. His role was clear, and he appreciated Spotty's trust in him. The potential danger didn't faze him; he was prepared for whatever they might encounter.

Elizabeth's Perspective

Elizabeth felt a warm flush of gratitude. Spotty's invitation to sightsee and the news about her vacation with Ivan being funded by the imperial treasury filled her with excitement. It was a generous gesture, and she looked forward to the day ahead and her time with Ivan.

Spotty's Perspective

Spotty felt a sense of satisfaction as she addressed each question. Her confidence in the plan was solid, and she trusted her team's capabilities. She looked forward to the mission and was pleased to see her leadership was effective in rallying everyone. The thought of spending some quality time with her closest allies and ensuring their well-being also brought her joy.

"Now if that's all, this meeting is adjourned." Spotty said, she turned to Lord Asmodeus and added with a smile "don't forget to visit me this evening in my private chambers, I believe I promised we'll do some catching up" (she knew he wasn't going to forget but was being playful). Lord Asmodeus smiled back "Oh you know I won't forget dear". She turned to Elizabeth "I'm going to my office now to check this new computer Shoddy made for me and to go over some things, have some food sent to me and some of that tea you and Ivan like, Earl Grey right. And arrange for dinner for me and Lord Asmodeus for tonight. After that you are free". Elizabeth replied "By some I assume you mean your usual portions? And if you don't mind me asking, how do you know about the tea?". Spotty answered "You know me too well, my usual portions obviously as for the tea, it's my job to know" she added more vaguely. She turned to Lyra "I've had quarters prepared for you, I believe you'll find them to your liking. See you tomorrow". Then she turned to Ila and looked at her sideways "I'm feeling generous today, if you want you can stay in the imperial palace until our mission or go visit your universe or both. Just don't try anything funny." Ila answered "Empress, if you don't mind can I join you, Lyra and Elizabeth tomorrow? I won't try anything funny." Spotty looked her surprised and replied "It's fine by me, assuming Lyra and Elizabeth are fine with it" Lyra and Elizabeth nodded. "Very well then, I'll be in my office until this evening" Spotty said and left to her office.

Spotty felt a mixture of satisfaction and anticipation as she wrapped up the meeting. She enjoyed the playful banter with Lord Asmodeus, knowing it strengthened their bond and kept their relationship vibrant. The prospect of testing her new computer excited her, as did the thought of some quiet time to go over plans and reports. She was pleased by Elizabeth's efficiency and amused by the question about the tea; knowing personal details was part of her leadership style. Spotty’s offer to Ila was both a gesture of goodwill and a test, reflecting her strategic mind at work.

Lyra's Perspective

Lyra felt a surge of curiosity and respect for Spotty's leadership. She appreciated the warm welcome and the preparations made for her quarters. Spotty's command style, blending authority with personal touches, impressed her. Lyra looked forward to the sightseeing tomorrow and felt a growing sense of belonging. Spotty’s invitation to Ila, and Ila’s request to join them, were surprising but highlighted the Empress’s skill in managing complex relationships.

Ila's Perspective

Ila was both surprised and impressed by Spotty's generosity and inclusiveness. Her request to join the sightseeing was genuine; she wanted to understand more about the Empire and its people. The playful banter between Spotty and Lord Asmodeus amused her, and she felt a grudging admiration for Spotty's leadership style. Ila was committed to proving her loyalty, knowing that trust would be built over time. The prospect of spending more informal time with Spotty, Lyra, and Elizabeth intrigued her.

Lord Asmodeus's Perspective

He admired her ability to balance serious matters with personal warmth. Her strategic planning and thoughtful inclusions, like the tea for Elizabeth and Ivan, highlighted her meticulous nature. Asmodeus was ready to support Spotty in both their official and personal capacities.

Whistler's Perspective

Whistler remained observant, noting the dynamics between Spotty and the others. He was impressed by her multifaceted approach to leadership. Her ability to manage both strategic plans and personal relationships effectively was something he respected. Whistler was committed to the mission ahead and curious about the sightseeing invitation extended to Ila. He felt a growing sense of purpose under Spotty's leadership.

Fabricator General Shoddy's Perspective

Shoddy felt proud of the work done on the power inhibitors and the new ship designs. Spotty’s acknowledgment of his efforts was gratifying. He looked forward to her feedback on the Zmajcica-g class designs and the upgraded computer. Shoddy admired Spotty’s leadership style, combining personal touches with strategic foresight. He felt confident in the Empire's future under her command and was ready to tackle the upcoming challenges.

General Marko Novak's Perspective
